After the 2001 terrorist attack on the U.S. and the war in Afghanistan, refugees were garnering attention around the world. However, great number of refugees has been evacuated and lived in neighboring countries since 1979 Soviet invasion into Afghan. 

Homeland -  What does it imply for them to live in another place except their homeland, although it exists. 

Every time I visit refugee camps, there is a calm space where people surround Afghan Tea The space may be a symbol of their life in a strange land.

米同時多発テロとその後のアフガン侵攻によってアフガニスタンから戦火を逃れる難民が注目されたが、同時に１９７９年のソ連のアフガン侵攻から多数の難民が発生し、難民として隣国で生活し続けている。故郷―自らのアイデンティティの形成にも関わるであろう存在。故郷が存在すれど、故郷を失い自分の場所ではないところに生活する、とは人間にとってどのようなことを意味するか。

難民キャンプに通うたびにアフガンティーを囲んだ静かな空間があり、難民たちの異郷に暮らす生活と思いはその空間に凝縮され、象徴となっていると感じた。
